About the Breed
Katahdins are a docile breed. They make great mothers. Twins and triplets are the norm. They are tolerant to cold climates. More resistant to parasites than wool sheep. Beautiful coloring and markings. Quality meat with a mild flavor.
Care of the Breed
Low maintenance breed. Because they shed their Winter coats in the Spring, there is no need to shear them or dock their tails. No horns.
Great for small acreage homesteaders and 4H. Great for weed control.
